Masking... it's the at home therapy we all need to start, finish or just get through a week. Oh yes, and it's wonderful for the skin too. Haha, but seriously, I often mask as a way to slow down, unwind, and breathe. The benefits of incorporating a mask into our skin care routine is obvious, but there are many to choose from depending on what your skin needs in that moment. I like to keep a few or six... on hand and at the ready to treat my skin and soul. Today, I'm sharing these tried and true beauties with a few extra details. As you read through the skin types, benefits, ingredients, price points, and how-tos, I hope you learn a few new tips and tricks and find a few keepers. Enjoy, sweet friends!Read More
Subscription boxes are nothing new. I'm sure you've at least considered signing up once, right? Perhaps you've already joined and currently receive one or two or three... a month. Haha yes, I see you beauty box addicts ;). Well, if you're still on the hunt or just purely curious, how do you know when a box is worth it? Well, it all depends on what you are looking to gain. If you're new to incorporating organic and green beauty products into your life, these bountiful trial-filled boxes can be a great way to gain exposure to brands. Personally, I've avoided these kinds of subscription boxes. Why? Well to put it simply, I'm picky. Haha, it's true though! I'm not an expert, but I definitely do my research and as a result know what ingredients I want and don't want in my products, including some natural safe products that just don't mesh well with my skin. I have a pretty good idea of what works on my skin and what doesn't. All this to say, a box filled with 5-10 travel-size medium-level products are not going to interest me. I'd rather save up for one quality product that I know I'll love. Anyone else feel the same?Read More
Toners and hydrosols are a deep love of mine. I often play around with different brands and ingredients, but currently, these three little babies are my faaaaavorites. Each comes from a brand I admire and am eager to support. If any are new to you, I encourage you to look up the included links below to learn more about the sourcing, process, and mission of each one. Quality comes from people who care and take the time to craft unique and truly beneficial products. Send the love back and take a moment to understand why you should support their work through your thoughtful purchases. They are worth it. I promise :*Read More
Hair care, it's as varied as the types of hair in this world. There are firm believers for all approaches, so today I simply wish to share my own personal experience and rhythm. I have a lot of long fine straight hair, so do take that into consideration. If you possess the gorgeous wavy or curly locks I've always wanted, this entire routine may not be for you, but perhaps bits and pieces or different options from the brands I mention may guide you to some keepers!
Caring for long locks naturally has not always been easy. When I first transitioned, I often wished for the days of using average drugstore or even high-quality standard hair care products. Life was so much simpler. I didn't have to look at ingredient lists or consider how the products might affect my organs. I just used what smelled good and looked pretty. Switching to cleaner safer options was not only harder, but I was quickly disappointed with the results. The cleaner products I found at Trader Joe's, Target, or even my local health food store did not perform. They always left my hair heavy or extremely dry, sometimes even causing little breakouts along my hairline. Has anyone else experienced this? I quickly ditched those options and began searching for safe high-performance options...Read More
Cleaning out your cabinet and removing dangerous skincare is much easier and, I think, much more fun than attempting to replace your standard tried-and-true foundation, concealer, and mascara. Somehow we talk ourselves into the idea that those sketchy ingredients on the back of the bottle can't really be that bad... Plus "natural" makeup doesn't really cover, right? What's the point of even wearing makeup if it doesn't work? Friend, I'm right there with you. My journey towards a safer makeup bag has been a slow one, because—let's be honest—I prioritized effectiveness over cleanliness. Yet, I'm here today to say that there is hope.Read More

Summer is here and, if you're like me, your skin may need a little extra boost. There's many options calling for your attention these days, but most are a bit pricey and, honestly, not that effective. So today, I thought I'd share a favorite that's basically free and easy to maintain. Let's chat about the age-old practice of dry brushing.Read More
The small but lovely detail of rosy lips can truly add to your glow.
As summer starts to approach, I naturally begin to increase my lip balm usage and water intake. With extra sun, wind, and sea exposure during the summer season, it's easy for all of our skin to get weary and dry. The lips are no exception.Read More
Friends, the foundation of all beauty routines is the cleansing process. This is the step that can make or break your skin and/or makeup for the day. I prefer and seek out gentle cleansers that can remove makeup and the day's grime without compromising the natural barrier the skin creates as a protectant.
The cleansers I'm sharing today are my current go-to's, the tried and true. I prefer these for warmer months because they provide extra bacterial support for those days you may "glisten" a little more than others... Since we are approaching toasty summer days here in the states, I thought I'd give you all a head start! Don't worry, if you're heading towards colder months, I have a few suggestions for you too :).Read More
