Living by the sea is a privilege, a true gift. I don't take it for granted, yet at times I can forget to visit. Days will go by without me stopping to casually observe the pelicans as they gracefully fly along the rough cliff line or watch the waves roll in one after another. The smell of the salty air or the feeling of the cool breeze across my face always grounds me, reminding me of the world's grandeur and the finite nature of that day's troubles. The changing of seasons are subtle here on the coast, but I've always enjoyed and noticed the shifts. Winter brought quite a few storms our way and flooded the soil with much needed moisture. All the lovely hydration and nutrients added to the earth led to an unforgettable Spring.
