Weekly Energetic Weather: Sept 22nd - 28th

Heavy. Tender. Open. Exhausted. This is how I would describe myself in 4 words. Steeping in recovery energy today. The earth feels quiet, like after a large hurricane or storm passes through and we are slowly coming out of our homes to survey the damage. So much has come in and out over these past 2 weeks. The whole month of September is meant to re-route us, to bring us back to what is best for our growth and healing. I chose to surrender a big dream right at the beginning of the month and then an unexpected opportunity that affirmed my next steps came through. It was - as my sister says - billboard status. I was praying and asking for billboards, and I got one. What have I been saying all year? Open doors. Close doors.

What were your doors doing? Who or what walked in and out? What was revealed and what was cleared?

Many of you were in your cocoons trying to survive your personal storms, but those of you who shared your highlights with me… wow. There are no words for the intensity, the frustration, the tension, the conflict, the inner turmoil, the awareness, the longings that arose. It was uniquely expressed and different for us all, but whether it was 2-3 weeks of buzzy good or raw pain or a roller coaster of all the above, it was A LOT. So I am sending you all so much love and care right now.

As it would be, this week’s energy is calling us to slooooooow down. To soften and to open up. After the chaos, we can see with more appreciation the little moments of peace and sink in the daily beauties that come our way. It’s time to come back to the body and care for it. Feed it delicious food. Get it into a cozy cuddly bed early. Dress it in ways that ground and comfort you. Let the pieces of all that moved float back down to the ground before trying to whip together the puzzle. It’s been rearranged, and there may even be a brand new plot and new players.

As I write this, I am sitting on my floor on a beautiful merlot and indigo colored rug, in a skirt and my softest sweater, sipping my mason of day-tea. It’s the late afternoon, and as I slowly take a deep breath all the way through my body, I feel the air lift my lungs and fill my belly, then hit my pelvic floor. The exhale sends me back, deeper into the couch I’m leaning up against.

Noticing the moment, like this. Finding joy in each activity. Being present in the body, this is what we must live in till Friday. Then the energy shifts into precision mode. Our motivation is building during this week’s rest. Energy and action will return as the weekend hits, but it won’t be impulsive; it’ll be calculated and strategic, from others and within you.

Desire to grip or figure out or force is not even possible at the moment because I’m so exhausted, which just makes me grateful for the exhaustion. There’s a groundedness to exhaustion that I weirdly enjoy. For anyone else who tends towards higher stress (my fellow blood type As), it can be hard to get to this level of body awareness without being fully run down. I know. I spent most of my late 20s and early 30s thinking I had finally achieved healthy peace and calm, when really I was just so burnt out that I was living from a place of deep exhaustion on the daily. Now, I’m really integrating the concept that true peace, for me, comes from a fully felt and expressed heart and a robust and well-cared-for body, that has lots to give. Pursuing peace means pursuing a life that naturally (without force) creates these two realities. This was my learning from this last week of tension-to-peace energy.

Ironically, life seems to work better when I lean into being fully myself. I am continually amazed at this idea. It’s talked about so much, but it is actually true. If like me, it was pounded into you that you are not acceptable, loved or enough as you are, give it a whirl. Your life will shed and if like me you’re meant to be quite different than you’ve been…. it will all happen, fast, without you doing anything other than being yourself. It will be painful, I won’t lie to you, but once you surrender and allow the waves of release to pass whenever they hit, the fog will slowly clear, and the life you’re intended to live will suddenly emerge like one of the many dreams you’ve had, but never assumed would actually manifest. This is actually real. I started my “experiment” (living truthfully) back in 2023, and I am still walking through it in real time.

September 22nd - Moon in Libra

Balance. The body is pulling you back to create homeostasis again. It’s asking for naps, water, a calmer schedule, and fairness in interactions. The kidneys want support. Place your hands over your lower back and send energy, healing, love, prayers for regeneration and reset. They will thank you, and the body will do it.

September 24th - Moon Moves Into Scorpio

You may experience a large and powerful release through the colon as a BM or the bladder as urine. All that was built up last week, if you’re caring for your body and finding balance Mon-Tues, could release on Wednesday and reward you with a healthy “dump”. Any infections or illnesses that the body acknowledged last week and decided it was ready to heal or shed, may clear quickly and easily under this moon. Call it in.

September 26th - Moon Moves Into Sagittarius

Now the blood is pumping! Get your body moving this weekend. Let your circulation flow and send nutrients all throughout to finalize the recovery that this week has initiated. Get your breath, muscles, and spine contracting and expanding, shortening and lengthening. Move, move, move. It’s time!

Weekly Energetic Weather: Sept 15th - 21st

Peace from conflict. This is the energetic weather this week, following a very potent week of facing tension.

This is a very personal energy for me. I grew up in a high-conflict family, a home that rarely felt safe or peaceful to me. In a natural, but unhealthy reaction, I threw myself towards the opposite. I strove to build a life that was all “peace”. I defined peace then as simply the absence of tension and conflict. This is not real peace, I have come to discover. Instead, it’s a loss of oxygen. It’s a stifling out of raw humanity. It’s a blank life. My essence died in a way. At the very least, I lost myself. Until 2017. That year I stepped back from life and cocooned harrrrrrd. I did a lot of internal work and began to gently peel back the layers of myself that had been plastered on for safety and survival. It was the catalyst to my next 7 years. Merfleur Wellness was actually the main baby birthed out of this time. That and a renewed sense of self.

Conflict and peace are both emotional states: tension and bliss in the body. Feeling emotion is necessary for physical health. If we’ve learned nothing else from the millennial generation, it’s that our emotional states as children and adults form our physical expression. Trauma is built through emotional experiences that lock into our body and keep circling till we learn how to diffuse them. We MUST FEEL. Avoiding conflict/tension/scary emotions is only going to lead to dis-ease. Enough said, right?

I learned all of this in theory back in 2017, and it made sense, but the true integration… moving from mental to physical… has been, well, layered and slow. I can look back now and see how I started with the more exterior levels of my life, then transitioned into the interior, tender and more vulnerable parts of my life in 2023. The last two years have been the most intense I’ve ever known, as I began to dip my toe into the pool of facing and holding tension around those I most dearly loved. I’d be lying if I didn’t say it’s been utterly brutal. Simultaneously, it almost felt unstoppable. To stop the natural progression felt like full self-rejection and denial. A snowball effect since the 2017 return to myself.

Now, I see that conflict is not wrong or even bad. In fact, I would say it’s necessary to find true peace in relationships and in life. Without facing the hard and seeing the other side, we get stuck in tension or blocked in a muted state of repression that leads to lack of growth and loss of love.

Since embracing this reality, I’ve started to pause. When I feel that achey grip grow in my chest and rise up to constrict my throat and tighten my jaw… instead of panicking and trying to fix or avoid or diffuse, I hold. I feel it. I breathe. I walk. I swing. I lay on the floor. I cry. I monologue. Whatever I need to do to stay in that energy until I can carry on without shutting it down. Living alongside a living tension is so so raw, you guys. I’m sure you felt that in some way last week, personally or on a global scale. But, listen up, this ability - to live alongside living tension - is what it takes to be able to face and move through conflict with conscious intention so that you don’t lose yourself like I did. So basically, I’ve been retraining my body, mind, and spirit in the art of tension holding, so that I can step into conflict when it’s needed and hold myself steady all the way to the finish line of true peace. It’s been a journey.

True peace comes on the other side of conflict, most of the time. Conflict isn’t always dramatic or painful, but most disagreements, regardless of their intensity level, need to be acknowledged, honored, discussed, and reconciled in a way that respects all parties. Diplomacy at its best. Most of us fall somewhere on the spectrum between unhealthy compromise (people-pleasing to be relieved of tension quicker) and fight-till-death energy (unyielding in order to feel seen and feel alive). How we react could vary depending on the person, topic or value involved. Whatever your default approach to conflict in pursuit of peace is at this present moment, you are being invited to consider how you wish to navigate conflict in the future. It could be tempting to apply this energy towards current world events and what you see in others, but I want to encourage you to bring this home to your heart, in relation to the people you live next to or that live inside your mind on the daily.

Like me, did you jump to the opposite end of the spectrum to feel safe or seen or heard? Take some time this week to soak in this energy and reflect on your defaults and whether you want to continue in this same way. Certain relationships or thoughts or dreams may show up to give you a chance to walk this out.

Here’s a Little Self-Reflection Prompt:

  1. What was your original family’s approach to conflict like? How have you continued or changed your approach in response?

  2. Where are you avoiding to stay safe or exaggerating to be seen?

  3. Where are you muting yourself? Where are you unyielding?

  4. Where are you acting out of deeper hurts?

  5. Is this who you want to be going forward?

  6. What does true peace look like in your relationships? In your body?

  7. What do you need to learn, accept or change to start growing your ability to face conflict for the result of true peace?

  8. Give yourself a hug. No, seriously, do it. Tuck your head and wrap your arms around yourself. You need it this week. This is one way we can walk through tension with self-care and courage. Love to you.

September 15th - Moon Moves Into Cancer

Ooooo we are TENDER. Cancer rules the parts of the body that can hold emotion. That tension? Yeah cancer organs are feeeeeling it. Your stomach, your rib cage, your lungs, breasts…basically your whole chest. Nurture your self with light and easy-to-digest foods, lots of warm liquids, like your favorite comfort tea.

September 17th - Moon Moves Into Leo

Hello sunshine. Leo loves and lives by the heart. Support cardiovascular strength with b vitamin rich foods and healthy movement to activate circulation. Papaya is lovely this time of years as a proteolytic enzyme when eaten on an empty stomach. Proteolytic enzymes can keep blood flowing cleanly in the body. Every morning on a Leo Moon day, wake up and place your hand over your heart and say out loud: “I love you, (name)”. Do it. It’s powerful for your subconscious and your heart health.

September 19th - Moon Moves Into Virgo

Virgo gets us INTO the body for comfort and discomfort. Whatever comes forward over these days is giving you very clear insight into the state of your health. Respect what’s being asked for and make shifts or deepen your approach, if you feel amazing!

September 21st - New Moon & Solar Eclipse in Virgo

This is a notable moment. A bookend to the energy started with the full moon in Pisces on Sept 7th. Pisces and Virgo are the north and south node energies of 2025 (also my natural nodes, so a very big year for me!), so it reflects the energy of the whole year, summarized into 2 weeks. What you felt the last 14 days reflects all of 2025 - what you’ve been through and what you’ve yet to move through in the remaining months of this year. It’s also a new start, as is every new moon. A time to refresh, reset, and begin again. Eat lightly. Let your body do its thing. If you naturally find you need less or more sleep, honor that. Don’t fight it or feel guilty about it. Virgo IS the energy of the body, so all you need to do is respect it’s wishes, whatever they may be. Stay in tune with your body and its whispers 5 days before and after September 21st (or you know… for always ;).

Weekly Energetic Weather: Sept 8th-14th

Alright, well, we are deep in it right now.

The greatest longing coming forward is enhanced clarity, or if you’ve received your full clarity, then action around this newfound clarity. You either got a glimpse of where you need to go, but don’t fully know your next steps or you’re all packed and ready to leave, but have no car. Oh the tension. It’s showing up in those areas that you thought (or maybe just hoped) were all said and done, but actually have some lingering details or fine print calling for your attention. It may come forward in mental chatter, physical tension, and/or emotional waves.

  • Sharpening the filter on your own thoughts and those of others speaking into your life will keep you present. Your mind will be full of thoughts that may or may not be true. Keep them in the possibility zone instead of concrete reality. I love using Byron Katie’s classic question - is it really true? - in these moments.

  • Your body may be tenser, inviting you to slow down and weave in ways to melt any internal rigidity. Honor your body’s requests. Trust it as the ultimate authority.

  • Watch your heart. Keep it close and focused on you right now. Your heart and nervous system could, in one moment, feel like it’s drowning in intense waves of feeling, and then in the blink of a few hours, you could be living in the high of dissociative bliss. You’re not crazy. This is the energy. This is all for your growth.

Learning to live in tension is the core of so much of my own personal journey. To be able to find my state of complete presence amidst anything that comes my way, whether it be unresolved connections, incomplete dreams, unanswered questions, potent pressure, consuming critique, uncertain outcomes, whatever it may be! Remaining the captain and editor of my thoughts, the protector of my tender heart, and the inhabitant of my entire body through it all – this is my greatest work. How about you?

This week is all about facing our own unique sense of tension. Feeling it. Naming it. Sitting next to it. And letting it be.

Answers and action are not going to come through force. They will arrive when you aren’t looking, when there is space, when it is the right, perfect, and divinely-oriented moment. That may happen this week or in a month… or three or twelve or more down the road. I’ve found that full understanding is rarely given in the moment, but the knowledge, wisdom, and support required to move forward… it can and will come. You are not here to just continue as you are. You are here to uncover the gift of who God made you to be, and that is a life-long unwrapping. Settling into this week with the perspective that this is just one tiny piece of your gigantic life puzzle can start to soften the intensity. Loosening your grip on what must be done or must be had or must be known will allow you to experience what you want sooner.

Now, for my “just-try-harder” readers – I see you – this doesn’t mean you can force the not-forcing-approach. I love how we do this… “oh, okay, Jess, I’ll just stop trying and work really hard to let go!” It’s the same coin, different side. True release is very very close to the feeling of giving up, but I would describe it more as a deeper knowing that life’s moving with or without you, that you’re going to be okay, and a really grounded in-your-body-sense that you’ve done all you can. If like me, you rarely feel like you’ve done enough, then you have to take this at like a 75-80% satisfaction with effort given. I know you can always think of something more to do or say or be. Let that go too. If you’re struggling here, simply speak this prayer: “I surrender to how this needs to come about. If there is anything I am blind to or any way that I am not giving what’s needed on my end, show it to me in a way I cannot miss it.” Trust you will be called out if needed and then focus your mental, emotional, and spiritual energy on living in the present moment with deep awareness of all that’s good in your life, all that you’ve been given and gifted already. This is how you and I hold and stay in our seats, right next to our greatest tensions.

Let this week ride out before you make any strong conclusions. Stay agile and stay congruent with your truest self. If you don’t know what your true self is anymore, you all know I love the systems of ancient Astrology and Human Design for this. Your authentic self is clearly laid out, and these systems simply identify it. Your entire life is about you returning to this whole healthy self. I’m happy to call this out for you anytime. September 8th - Moon Moves Into Aries

The head. If you have strong aries placements, you may experience headaches and sinus congestion or pressure. Slow down and use your toolkit to ease this tension. Magnesium is my first go-to, especially magnesium threonate because it passes the blood-brain barrier. Stay well hydrated and take multiple rests through out these next few days, naps or even just lay down for 5 minutes to ease that top pressure. This also can mean we will be hyper active in our minds and and possibly feeling impatient around any symptoms our body presents. I cannot say this enough, take a breath, sloooooow down, and give it 24 hours before you take any dramatic action.

September 10th - Moon Moves Into Taurus

Taurus is the ruler of your lower jaw, neck, ears, throat and thyroid… so massage that jawline and neck, my friends, you could be holding a lot of tension this week! Use my immune tonic and incorporate water gargling (60 seconds 2x daily), if your throat begins to act up or if you lose your voice. I love to gently tap over my thyroid to activate and focus the body’s attention on it. Similar to the first two days of this week, slow down and rest as much as you can. This month’s body flares are a bit extra due to the sun being in virgo, the ruler of the whole body. This is why it’s a classic month to get your annual or biannual cold! It’s a healthy reset :).

September 12th - Moon Moves Into Gemini

Hello lungs. Clearance of grief may come up towards the end of this week, as well as any mucous congestion. Get it up and out! Nebulize, tap your chest, move your body, clean your air, and cry it out. Gemini also controls the speech centers of your brain, so you may feel extra chatty and quick to speak ,or find yourself bumbling a bit more with words if you’re body is highlighting brain inflammation.

September 14th - Moon Moves Into Cancer

Sunday we land in the mothering energy of cancer and I recommend savoring it. Nurture yourself well with cozy food and drink. Take time to tune in and perhaps have a quiet day at home to feel all the feels in a safe space that you maaaay have pushed past this week... just sayin ;).

Weekly Energetic Weather: Sept 2nd - 7th

New energy, a return to what we may have felt or considered at the beginning of this year, and an overall sense of heightened possibility… this week holds a lot for us.

With back-to-school vibes coming in hot, there is a sense or really an unconscious want to find, create, and hold on to structure, but we are actually being called into flow, surrender, standing back and witnessing, instead of manhandling. The structure is being created for us. The next few weeks or really the rest of the month will bring in wave after wave of change. Some old and some new. It is not our job to step in or control, at all. Instead, we will stand in the sand and let the waves roll in around our feet and back out to the depths as they naturally do without our influence. We will simply experience it. People, work, ideas, and more will be rolling in and out of our lives. Our only work is to reflect on what it brings up in us, how does it all makes us react. What do we feel? What do we want to do? How do we want to respond? Remember the recent lesson about people being mirrors for us? Well now, we get to put our practice to the test. Everything that’s going to happen over the next month is for you. It’s teaching you by reflecting back to you the lessons you’re ready to integrate. The emotionally distant friend - how are you unavailable? The clingy partner - where are you grasping when it’s not needed? Attracting people that are judging you for your looks, job, etc - where are you moving through life with a more shallow worldview and not giving a chance for deeper understanding or value? Everything drawn into your life has something to show you, something to teach you, some way to grow you.

This week and the few after are also clearing the way for you to lean closer into who you are truly meant to be here in this lifetime. This is a profound moment. This whole year is monumental, but this is one of those big pushes that will flush out all that is getting stanky. October is going to feel GOOD, but only September is going to hose us down and flush our lives. Just let it happen.

Ideas or decisions or options that were presented to you in the beginning of this year may come back around for a second chance or even just because the timing is now right. You’re ready. You’re going to feel openness and possibility rising in you this week. Dreams you’ve had in the past suddenly feel doable. Go for it! Trust yourself and make the choice you know deep down is right this time around.

The next stage is an interesting one. Right after you make the choice and decidie to finally go for it, the self-limiting critic is going to come in hot… panic and self-doubt will creep in. It’s okay. This is an old protective mechanism that is being highlighted right now. You are being given the chance to grow beyond your own blocking pattern. Let yourself stay solid in your choice and release the fear this time. Trust your decision. Once you make a choice, you can and need to go all in to really truly see the complete potential of what you’re capable of being, accomplishing, and experiencing. This choice is most likely in an area you’ve always limited yourself or held yourself back in previously, so it’s time to unblock and let yourself fall. Yep, fall. Surrender. Float. Fly. You may be shocked at the unexpected and beautiful results laying at the bottom of the drop for you. All that your subconscious feared and avoided? Not even close to reality. If you do eat it, then wow, what a beautiful lesson in going all in and coming up the surface with a full complete experience. The clarity that comes from giving something your all and seeing it through to the end only to find that it’s not it, is HUGE. It will open the right door much faster than wallowing in the shallows, biting your nails, and making excuses, ever will. You will NOT DIE. Worst case scenario, you will recover and become a more beautiful, rich, and well-rounded ALIVE soul. Just DO IT.

The last note… the view will be hazy. You may only get your very next step placed in front of you, and nothing else, the rest will be covered in a great fog. I know… Hear me out. This is (in my humble opinion) the greatest affirmation that you are on track. If the way is clear-cut and obvious, it’s rarely ever truly YOUR path. It’s often simply the safe way that you’ve been promised will be best for you based on others’ experiences, personal fears, or their wants from you. If you feel a deep pull towards it, but the pathway and the end results are hidden… welcome to your authentic choice. I can say from personal experience, that you will be given what you need in the exact right moment. This energy is all about trust. Trusting yourself. Trusting the universal matrix God made. Trusting that your authentic and true way of moving through life is preeminently selected, purposefully provided, and profoundly protected. And so, with all this knowing wrapped around you, let go. Loosen your grip, relax your ribcage, soften your face, sink into your body, and allow yourself to move forward, one step at a time.

We’re all in this together. The more you follow your true path, the more those around you will be encouraged to do so as well, and the more we all do it, the more the world will be a place of beautiful souls traveling alongside each other, creating a genuine and powerful experience called life.

September 2nd - Moon Moves Into Capricorn

Under the virgo sun, the capricorn moon is going to cerate a desire to return to healthy whole foods, full and complete BMs, and prioritizing sleep (even if it’s challenging with all this energy right now). Listen to this call and come home to the basics. Water your body like your favorite plant, eat often and well, choose foods that your body is craving - proteins, hydrating greens, fresh fruit, and get yourself into bed by 10 PM or sooner. Lastly, light a beeswax candle and let it be your only source of light once you’re in bed. This will initiate melatonin production and allow for easy entrance into sleep.

September 4th - Moon Moves Into Aquarius

Aquarius rules oxygen in the body - the great healer and mobilizer and revitalizer in the body. If you haven’t tried oxygen-related therapies these are the days to give it a whirl. If you’re familiar, these are the days to get the most out of it! Some of my favorite oxygen therapies include: breathwork, ozone insufflation (rectal, vaginal, ear, sinus, and topical), nebulizing, ozone IVs, ozone saunas, and hyperbaric chamber sessions. September 6th - Moon Moves Into Pisces

*September 7th is a full moon eclipse in Pisces. This is BIG energy. Surrender to all that comes forward emotionally, spiritually, and physically.

As sensitives and artists we FEEL the full moon up to 5 days before and 5 days after it rises, so you’ll be swimming in this energy for most of this week and next. An eclipse is even more potent as it affects the earth’s magnetism in a deeply dramatic fashion and as a result our water-filled, frequency-driven bodies feel very impacted. Our emotions are going to be running high. You may feel more introverted or tender or just have a heightened sensitivity to others and yourself. Have sooooo much grace for your body and the bodies of those around you during this time. Pisces is the energy, the personality, the feeling of dreamy, watery illusions and ideals. It’s okay if you or others get swept up in ideals and fantasy right now. In fact, as creatives, USE IT to make potent art. This is our time. In your body, you may feel more water-logged and find yourself craving mineral-rich seafood. If the bloating/swelling gets uncomfortable, incorporate potassium and debloating/deswelling herbs like fennel and cumin into your diet. I love drinking floose leaf fennel seed tea often around the full moon to clear excess fluids in my body. My favorite source is here. I steep it in 16-24 oz of hot water right before bed and then drink it all upon waking.
