Glow Beauty Balls

beauty breakfast series

I rarely have felt the desire for a big breakfast. Most of my life, I have preferred slow mornings, and that includes a gentle entrance into food as well. I always begin my morning with a tonic and then move into solid food. Some days require a quicker get up and go. I got in the habit of grabbing protein bars, but I noticed that my hair and skin started to show signs of malnourishment, so I decided to make my own version. The balls are a bite-sized way to fill the body with rich nutrients in a quick and easy fashion - though I do still encourage savoring. If you can, sit and take a breath between each bite to receive the most benefit (even if that is in the car).

I have a few versions of the ball now, but today I am going to share my first “Glow Beauty Ball”. Its key ingredients include Black Sesame Seeds, Pumpkin Seeds and Walnuts. Full of good fats for your brain, high levels of iron and copper for the immune system and skin, and calcium for your bone structure and teeth, this one may become a classic in your fridge. I do love to add a clean protein powder to them to ramp up the protein in each ball. Body Health’s Perfect Aminos is my preference. They taste lovely without the powder if you prefer a simpler whole foods version. Either way, you are getting nourishment in and communicating stability and steadiness to your body - the main goal of Beauty Breakfasts!

Keep these stored in your fridge. The recipe makes 12, but you can double or triple it and pack your freezer with batches!

Cilantro & Tamari Arugula Chicken Salad

Blood type matters when it comes to our chosen food life. Type Os run the world and dominate health trends, while the Type As, Bs and ABs often experience inflammation, exhaustion after eating, stubborn inauthentic weight, brain fog, and digestive distress trying to follow the Type O recommendations - think protein-heavy (especially animal), low carb, and lots of whole dairy.

I am a type A and have been moving more and more towards honoring what aligns best with my blood. A really big step for me has been the reintroduction of whole food soy. I have avoided soy since 2008 and had a hard time accepting that my body might thrive on it, even in natural forms. Since January 2026 though, I have been consistently beginning my day with pure whole soy milk and reintroducing tamari (a gluten-free style soy-sauce). I’m still holding out on my conclusions, but so far so good.

What I have found is that the use of tamari is a lovely substitution for a lot of dressings or condiments that call for vinegar. Vinegar is detrimental to type As when eaten regularly. I have always looooved sour and tangy foods that contain vinegar, like pickles, mayo, balsamic, apple cider vinegar, and mustard, but my body has rarely thrived on them. Throw back to the ole days of GAPS and Western A Price diet and wow were those meals were rough for me! Since lowering my fermented food - especially vinegar-based fermented food - over the last handful of years, I have felt significantly better. I said bye to kombucha and the classic vinegar-filled bone broth too. Much less inflammation and much less mediator/mast cell reactions. That being said, I miss the sour tang, and while tamari is not the same, it offers a depth and complexity of taste to food that I need.

Sooo here is an example of how I swap out vinegar-based dressings with a simple splash of tamari alongside olive oil. It’s easy and leaves the mouth delighted!

Homemade Organic Strawberry Jam

I love jam. Like I reeeeeally like jam. And strawberry, well, you just can’t beat it. I try to vary it up, but I always come back. I also have a special way of enjoying it. A toasted slice of dark gluten-free sourdough bread with three layers. The first is a salted ghee, smoothed perfectly over its face, followed by a smear of plain goat chevre, like a really good one by La Clare, and then plop that berry jam on top for the finishing spread. This tiniest little bit of heaven enters your mouth, and you just die. It pairs beautifully with an afternoon tea.

Sourcing jams from small independent grocers or freshly made batches from farmers’ markets is the ideal route here in the States, but I have to say the best jams I’ve experienced are from France.

The French do jam right. Whenever I’m there, I always find local jams to keep in my fridge for my toast treat. One of my most precious jam memories was when I was roadtripping along the western coastline. We had stopped by chance in a quaint holiday town called Trouville, and as I tend to do, I looked up the farmers’ market schedule. There was one just on the main road, a little walk from our hotel, so we strolled over and discovered the most delightful array of vibrant produce-covered booths. Locals were swarming about, selecting from the fresh fish and seafood that clearly had been caught straight from the shoreline sitting adjacent to the market. The aroma of garlic and rice and paprika wafted through the air and guided me to the largest cast-iron skillet I’d ever seen in my life, where the jolliest frenchman was skillfully scraping and turning a mountain of fresh paella. It was my first introduction to it, and I don’t think any other rendition has been able to beat it to this day. At the end of the market row was a table that instantly caught my eye. It was set apart, covered in a darling homemade tablecloth with a red and white paisley-like pattern. So perfectly cozy. A man sat behind it and couldn’t have looked more quintessentially french. Cheerful and kind he handed me a sample of his jam with a big grin. I was already in love with the classic jam jars and lids, but when I tasted it, my eyes involuntarily closed, and I may have let out a bit of a moan. It was diiiivine. You could taste the berry. The depth of strawberriness, the texture of the seed, the natural layers of tang and sweetness, and a fragrance that promised it came from a nutrient-dense and ripe batch of berries. I saved that jar and had it for many years on my mantle as a reminder of that moment. The high that a perfectly curated food can bring, a time of joy, a purity of taste. It all comes down to the cultivation of the berry and then the simplicity of the production. The less you do with good food, the better it will taste, in my opinion. It should be heavenly at the beginning, you’re only highlighting what is already present. And yes, I have many more stories from this adventure, so I highly recommend the sweet seaside town of Trouville and its neighbor Deauville, if you find yourself on the western side of France. Go get yourself a jar of that jam.

Until you go, try out my rendition of a pure strawberry jam, in honor of my french market inspiration. I can promise you will taste the berry.

Overall Theme

How open is your heart?

Up until Wednesday, a few tests may arrive. Old relationships, friendships, family, people who have hurt you, or perhaps have lost your trust or faith, may present themselves. Is it time to soften and reconnect? Can a balance be found between holding sacred boundaries and remaining tender and available for shifts and changes in others, and in you? We are in the lead-up to an emotional new moon in Pisces on the 18th. 2-3 days before or after you will feel this the most, depending on your unique wiring. Emotional weariness, feeling vulnerable, even fragile, are natural. Pair this with any old hurt and anger that may be rising with the closeout of mercury retrograde and the eclipse, and well… let’s just say it would be most helpful if we all just responded slowly for a while. Those tests arriving? Take your time. Think, truly think, before you respond. Lead with gentleness, and if that’s not what you’re feeling, then give yourself more room to breathe, more time to process, get it all out in a safe space first – then take the action, or say the thing. This could be the opportunity for reconciliation, forgiveness, and a reset. Allow yourself to be open to the possibility. We are messy, and yet we can grow and change. What if we let others who have been messy grow and change, too? Hold your value and stand in your healthy self-trust. You do want to note that change has actually occurred, but it’s a safer time to hope. The energetic weather is creating a moment for new beginnings, if all parties are ready. It might be time.

After the new moon, we are invited into even more softness, a relaxing into the body, an expansion of breath, and a releasing of tension. Part of this energy is very personal for me as it has prominent placement in both my human design and gene key charts. I can tell you from experience, this energy brings forward the inner battle for control, a need to brace, prepare for the worst to save the body, the spirit, and the heart. That is its shadow side. The progression from this tightness, this rigidity, this fear, is to step into surrender and allowance, fluidity and flow, which leads to the final landing place of healthy expression: embodied unconditional love for the self and for others. It is the genuine, pure, trusting, and heartfelt love of a child. What does all this mean for you? Check on your muscles, your gut, your breath, your mindset. Are you contracting or expanding? Are you making decisions out of fear and protection or from a place of grounded acceptance and perhaps even child-like love? How deeply can you press into self-trust and work out any kinks that may be holding you back from loving all the nooks and crannies of your messy, human, weird, and wonderful self? Love. Love like a wise child this week.

Moon Schedule

As a little reminder. We care about the energy of the moon because it directly impacts our bodies. The pull of the moon’s magnetic field on the water of our earth and in our bodies (we are 65% water) shifts how our cells communicate to each other, which affects organ function, which affects our energy and hormone expression, which affects our perspective and nervous system response for the day... We feel and live out the influence of the moon, whether we want to acknowledge it or not. The “personality” of the moon, plays into how and where it hits us. It’s both woo woo and yet not. Lean into it and see what holds true for you over time.

MOON enters PISCES at 4:16 PM PST | 3.16.26

Feet. Pisces rules the feet. Give your foundation some attention under this moon. You know I loooove foot baths, but a foot massage, letting your toes wiggle in grass, walking barefoot outside, and wearing socks inside are also lovely. Your feet are maps to your body. For centuries, acupressure and acupuncture have demonstrated the power of pressing, tapping, and stimulating specific points on the feet to connect and reset specific organs and systems in our body. Get to know your feet! If you already know your body’s unique points of vulnerability by organ, find these organs’ points on your feet and press them or massage them for a few minutes over the next few nights. See what you notice. Are they extra tender? Do they get more easily red than other points? Do they feel knotted? Work on them and observe any shifts :).

NEW MOON in Pisces at 6:23 PM PST | 3.18.26

This new moon is both the closeout of the series that began last October and the beginning of a new cycle. A lovely time for setting a fresh intention for your next 6 months. Check what slice of pie is ruled by Pisces in your astrological birth chart to see what areas of your life are being activated. Use this breakout to match pie slice themes with your chart. For example, my 3rd house is ruled by Pisces in my birth chart, so my themes will be found under the 3rd pie slice: thinking, analyzing, communication, relationships with neighbors, friends, and siblings. Now you try! Look up your chart here.

MOON enters ARIES at 9:03 PM PST | 3.18.26

Aries rules the head. We’ve been living in a lot of Pisces and Aries energy of late, but the Aries has been bringing up all the skin, pressure, eye, ear, brain, and mouth imbalances. Relieve the pressured focus by draining the lymphatic pathways along the neck into the shoulders - get a massage, use a theracane, foam roller or a tennis ball in a sock to work out any stiff or knotty muscles and fascia at the base of the neck and along the shoulders. When this is tight, tension travels up the neck and creates a host of congestion symptoms. Aries also brings heat. Keep your head temperature balanced. Not too hot and not too cool to ease any extreme rebounding between temperatures. One of my favorite at-home therapies is to sit with my back against a wall, knees to chest, and gently cup my hands over my eyes, breathing very slowly in and out, dropping my nose towards my knees, allowing my body to release tension in the face, neck, and shoulders with each exhale.

MOON enters TAURUS at 11:35 PM PST | 3.20.26

Taurus = Thyroid. The thyroid drives your metabolism, in other words, your energy, your mental acuity, and your mood. Observe how you feel under the taurean moon. If you notice a loss of vitality, some foggy brain, or unnecessary irritability, it might be time to check in on your thyroid levels! For a quick boost, add seaweed and raw fish to your diet for a few days to see how you feel. Supplement-wise, Iodine is a huge help, as long as you are not low in selenium or have any autoimmune activity, you can safely add in at a low-dose for support. Start with food, though! This is such a lovely moon to nourish yourself under, so sleep early and long, eat thoroughly and often.

Your astrological map is a powerful tool to understand sources of chronic symptoms, health blocks, your body’s vulnerabilities and strengths, and the best preventative measures to stay strong, youthful, vibrant, and dis-ease free. I can introduce you to your map in my single session or use your astrology to dive very deep as a part of your Concierge Reset.
